Summertime for most people means beaches, tanning and partying. Well, I’m from Puerto Rico and we can pretty much do that anytime of the year so I usually use the summer to take college courses and get those hard classes out of the way. I’m talking about you O. Chem!
This year has been a little different. With a student strike lasting over 2 months, adjustments had to be made in order to finish our semesters. That means only one month of summer. This year I decided to opt out of the summer courses and take a break on July, maybe doing some volunteer work and getting a job.
However, this post is not about that. Today I’ll be discussing my summer studying routine.
While I did manage to finish two courses online during the strike I still have two left and that’s what I’ll be basing my schedule on.
5 am – Wake up and check social media. Some people would frown upon using my phone so early in the morning but it actually helps me wake up. Once that bright light hits my eyes, there’s no way I’m going back to sleep.
6 am – Breakfast, feed the cat and get ready for my day.
7 am – Mondays and Wednesdays I have class during this time so I’ll be at uni but any other day of the week I take this time to make my bed, pick up last night’s mess, do the dishes and clean my cat’s litter box.
8 am – Time to study! I typically try to review for my classes. Basically, I’ll read over my notes or try to decipher a paper. Not much fun but has to be done.
10 am – I usually take a break during this time to work on my blog or catch up on anything I need to do in my life.
12 pm – Tuesdays and Wednesday’s I’ll go to class but any other day I’ll just go back to studying.
2 pm – Lunch time! I cook, eat, watch tv, catch up on blogging, check my social media.. you know the usual.
4 pm – Back to studying!
6 pm – Workout!
7 pm – Clean around the house, shower, have a light snack and get ready for bed.
9pm – Bed time!
Now this schedule is not set in stone but it’s pretty much what I do on a day-to-day basis. Yes, there are days where I’ll have appointments or go out with my friends but for me it’s extremely important to stick to this routine. It keeps my anxiety and insomnia at bay and overall, leaves me with enough energy for the day.
What’s your schedule like?
