The 5 Day Reset

If you’ve ever felt in a funk, here’s the a fool-proof plan to resetting your mood and life. It’s not a miracle saver but it’s a routine I’ve developed for picking myself up when I’m down in the dumps.

Day 1 – Diet

Now, I don’t mean no carbs for five days. Heck, I’m Puerto Rican! I eat, breath and sleep rice with beans. Not kidding, I eat rice every day…

I’m talking about preparing all your meals, making a conscious effort to nourish your body. If you’ve been feeling bloated stop drinking sodas and switch to water or if you’ve been feeling low on energy make sure you have an amazing breakfast. Incorporate fruits and veggies into all your meals. If you dread cooking take this day to meal prep.

Day 2 – Soul

Take time to write out your goals, focus on what you want to bring into your life and set the months intentions. I personally love creating vision boards and hanging them up in my room to get inspired and motivated.

Meditate! No you don’t actually need to know what you’re doing. YouTube and apps are your best friends! Get into the habit with short guided meditations that will help calm you.

You can also read self-help books and blogs, listen to podcasts! The point of this day is to cleanse your mind and soul.

Day 3 – Routine

Hate your everyday life? Take time to dissect your routine and figure out what’s not working. Dump the things that don’t make you happy or do not fit in any more and make time for the things that truly bring you peace and joy.

Day 4 – Surroundings

Clean! Get rid of anything associated with bad energy. If you haven’t used it in a year, you probably won’t use in the future. Donate whatever is good, sell what you can make money off and toss anything else. You’ve already decluttered your mind now its time for your home.

Day 5 – Relationships

If you can’t stand a person in real life why follow them only. Surround yourself with people who support and make you feel good. Now this applies to your social media, phone contacts and real life friends. If it’s not contributing to your life, you don’t need it.

Now that your done? Have a day to celebrate! You deserve it! It’s important to note that you don’t actually have to do this during 5 days, take it at your own time.

Let me know how your 5 day reset went! Leave a comment below, I’d love to hear from you.

This is such a brilliant post. I would definitely recommend a bullet journal for the soul because you can plan out everything months in advance and day by day, prioritise tasks, track your habits and set your goals. It’s a book that’s all you and you can completely personalise! I started one recently and absolutely love it! Decluttering my room always makes me feel refreshed and so much better about myself. The hardest part is starting but, once I’m getting into it, I just play some music and go at my own pace. I recently filled two whole bin bags with clothes to go to the charity shop!
